No GRE Required Digital Marketing Programs

The GRE is no longer a barrier to a master’s in digital marketing. Many accredited universities have dropped the exam entirely, or waive it for applicants who meet a GPA or work-experience threshold, so you can apply based on your record and goals instead of a test score. Below are graduate programs that do not require the GRE, each verified as currently offered and checked for accreditation in July 2026.

Why the GRE is optional now

Business schools increasingly find that undergraduate performance and work experience predict graduate success better than a standardized test, and dropping the GRE widens access for working professionals. For applicants, that means less time and money spent on test prep and a faster path into a program. It does not signal lower standards: many of the schools below hold AACSB accreditation, the top credential for business education.

Careers and salaries

How to choose a program

Confirm accreditation first, and favor AACSB-accredited business schools where possible. Check the exact admissions policy, since some programs waive the GRE only above a GPA cutoff, and weigh format, cost, and curriculum currency. Comparing options? Yes. A growing number of accredited universities waive the GRE for their digital marketing and marketing master’s programs, often for applicants who meet a minimum GPA or have relevant work experience. Every program below admits students without a required GRE score.

How long does a digital marketing master’s take?
Most run one to two years. Many programs offer accelerated or part-time online options, so you can finish in about 15 months full-time or spread the work around a job.
How much do digital marketers earn?
